London-based pop prodigy Tiggi Hawke has teamed up with Mike Mago for her new single. Upbeat and stupendously infectious, ‘Dangerous Behaviour’ is immersed in swaying rhythms, sing-along vocals and a double dose of catchiness. This unbridled radio smash is fun and exciting, which is exactly what makes ‘Dangerous Behaviour’ so appealing.

We caught up with Tiggi to find out what’s happening.

What first got you into music?

Well, thankfully music has always been a part of my life. I had some amazingly bad dance and karaoke routines when I was a kid (not much has changed!) and my parents definitely helped me continue my interest throughout my childhood. I actually started out classically, singing more operatic styles, and then made the pretty drastic leap over to pop music when I was a teenager. I was a huge bookworm as well, so combining words and music was quite a natural thing for me. That’s not to say 13-year old me’s songs sounded good though! I can pretty much guarantee they did not . . .

Who are your music idols?

My taste in music is pretty eclectic, influenced by artists from Guns N’ Roses to Marc Cohen and everything inbetween! Johnny Cash is one of my all time favourite artists – I’ve always admired his ability to tell a story in every song. The first gig I went to was a Chili Peppers concert and I just loved watching them completely let go and live it up onstage. They’re still a firm favourite in my books, and they’re performance inspiration too!

Can you tell us about your latest single, ‘Dangerous Behaviour’?

‘Dangerous Behaviour’ was written about a very positive experience where I felt empowered to venture outside my comfort zone and dive into something new. It was a really exciting time and I wanted to bring that reckless energy into the song, both musically and lyrically! Even though it was written about a specific moment for me, I think it can be about anything, from taking a big step in a relationship to taking a risk in your work or career. While I was taking my leap I was also challenging the person who inspired me to keep up with what they started – kinda like, you’ve opened a good version of Pandora’s box, so you’d better be ready for what comes next!

What’s next for you?

Loads more writing! I’m doing a gig frenzy as well in the next couple of months which I’m really excited about. It’s the perfect combo for me. I love sharing my music with anyone who will listen! Next year will be super exciting as well – I can’t wait to release some more songs as soon as possible, so watch this space!
