When we already have five perfect boys called One Direction, is 2014 really going to be the year for The Vamps?

Connor, Tristan, James and Bradley make up The Vamps and, unlike their competition, these guys play their own instruments. They are comparable to a young McFly with the hair of One Direction.

These guys made it big through making YouTube videos. Their first original song ‘Wildheart’ reached 46,000 hits in two days. The track is about to be released as their second single. The single is set for a re-recording collaboration with Pixie Lott.

The band’s breakthrough track ‘Can We Dance’ went straight to number 2 on the official singles charts. After many low-budget YouTube videos, the video’s massive production of a ridiculous house party constantly pays tribute to social media and how it helped them on their rise to fame.

These days their videos are hitting the millions.

The boys will be supporting Taylor Swift on her upcoming February leg of the Red Tour. Until the release of their first singles, they were recording cover songs, including Swift’s ‘22’.

They have already won 4Music’s ‘Your Best Breakthrough’ artist and are set for a good year to come.

Are they going to be big? They are doing better than four-piece X-Factor boyband Union J  and the band has already got a large following. Whether a new young boy band was really necessary to the music industry or not, they’re here to stay, for now at least.
