Since 2015, Vada has been publishing creative writing with the fabulous ‘Poems for Your Fridge’ column. Now in 2020, we are expanding and are seeking submissions for a new regular column: Friday Fiction.
Mj Bains has taken over as the Literary Editor and he’s desperate for the poets to stop getting all the glory (even if Mj has admittedly dabbled in poetry himself). We want your short stories, vignettes and serials on all topics Vada – from your LGBTQ+ reimaginings of classic fairy tales to first-person stories of love and loss. All we ask is that what you write is authentic, doesn’t go out of your way to be offensive, and is under 2000 words.
To get things rolling, we’re looking to fully embrace the festive period. This could be a fantastical Christmas wonderland or it could be a more abstract vision of what the holidays mean to you. And, because we all know 2020 hasn’t been the best, we are also looking to kick off the New Year with a selection of stories focussed on ‘New Beginnings’.
We look forward to reading your submissions and are excited to be sharing some Friday Fiction with you soon. In the meantime, continue to read our ‘Poems for Your Fridge’ and look out for our new ‘Friday Fiction’ serials.
