Star of Sex and the City and Hocus Pocus, Sarah Jessica Parker is set to launch her own publishing imprint with Hogarth Press. Named SJP, the press will publish just three to four titles per year selected by the star. It’s not yet clear what genres she’ll be picking – though Vada guesses it’ll be something that plays on her star brand.
‘I have always loved to read for the same reason I love to act, which is that other people’s stories are more interesting to me than my own,’ she said to the New York Times.
Hogarth Press was founded by author Virgina Woolf.
‘Because Virginia and Leonard Woolf were printing books out of their home, and because they were publishing work by their friends, they were telling exactly the stories they wanted to tell. I love most the idea of community here, and that the history of the imprint is personal. There was nothing mercenary about it. The Woolfs were storytellers.’
