Podcast review: Accessories! by Minty from Leeds

Adam Lowe

Accessories! is a brand new podcast from former Vada contributor Barnaby Callaby, AKA Barnaby Horn and Minty from Leeds.

The show is a wild mix of fashion, humour and artistry. With his charming Leeds accent (Loiners FTW!), Barnaby leads an exciting and colourful line-up of artists who talk about style and creating, with daft games and lots of friendly natter.

This first episode includes guests Adam Frost, Joe Black, Shrek 666 and Emii Alrai.

Barnaby talks about new directions, as he expands his skills from writing to fashion. In a particularly inspired section, he and Adam discuss fashion trends, as depicted in the pages of UK fashion magazines, to the sounds of Adam’s track ‘Seagulls, Cigarettes and Champagne’. It’s a lot of fun.

Though the show is ostensibly about fashion, it’s also about live art, cabaret and drag. Artists talk about how they’ve continued to make work and show their art during lockdown, their love of music and performance, and how they work across disciplines.

If you want a podcast with friendly personalities, a very queer vibe and lots of style, Accessories! is the one for you.
