It’s official – Hamilton is the UK’s favourite musical of the last 20 years.
In celebration of smash hit musical Hamilton coming to Disney+, the British marketplace website OnBuy.com has revealed the hit show has been voted the best musical of the last 20 years. Wicked and Mamma Mia! follow at number 2 and 3, respectively, some 10% behind Hamilton.
The Book of Mormon snuck in at number 4, while perennial favourite Hairspray has held strong at number 5 and Rocky Horror hands on at number 7. Legally Blonde makes it to number 8, while The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins come in 9th and 10th, respectively.
Respondents chose from a list of 100 iconic shows and then, once the top 10 was identified, chose one final as favourite.
