Eminem comes out as gay in this clip from lukewarm comedy, The Interview, parodying his own homophobic rap lyrics.
Speaking of his lyrics, rapper Marshall Mathers says, ‘I’m more shocked that people haven’t figured it out yet. I mean, it’s kind of like I’ve been playing gay peek-a-boo.’
He jokes that the homophobia in his songs is because he’s gay. He tells co-star James Franco,
‘When I say things about gay people, or people think my lyrics are homophobic – it’s because I’m gay.’
Elsewhere, Eminem has claimed he isn’t homophobic, and has even performed his song ‘Stan’ with music legend and renowned homosexual Elton John.
‘The real me [has] no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all,’ he once told Rolling Stone, claiming his songs are part of a persona.
