Lake Placid’s killer crocs go head-to-head with the giant Amazonian snakes from Anaconda in the patently ridiculous Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
This straight-to-video release (of course) debuts on Digital HD on 24 August and DVD on 7 September from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
The premise? A mad scientist (again, of course) tries to cross-breed giant crocodiles and giant anacondas. As with every sci-fi/horror film ever, this attempt goes horribly wrong, leaving a small town sheriff (of course!) to slay the two monsters before they kill everyone.
The fifth film in the series for both franchises, Lake Placid vs. Anaconda stars Yancy Butler (Kick-Ass), Corin Nemec (Stargate SG-1) and horror icon Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street). I guess jobbing actors gotta eat!
Smashed together – or, rather, ‘directed’ – by A.B. Stone from a screenwreck – sorry, ‘screenplay’ – by Berkeley Anderson (Robocroc), the film runs for just 88 mins (thank god) and is rated 15.
We can’t wait. Woohoo!
