As today is Trans Visibility Day, we’re sharing details of Sacred Country – a fabulous film seeking crowdfunding on Indiegogo.
The film has a cast which includes Brenda Blethyn (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Secret Lies), Shirley Henderson (Trainspotting, Bridget Jone’s Diary) and Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham).
The team behind Sacred Country – spurred on by a desire to see better respresentation for the ‘T’ in LGBT – is looking for people to support their campaign on Indiegogo.
There are a variety of perks offered in exchange for supporting the film campaign, including a red carpet premiere and coming on set for a day.
So far the team has raised over £21,000 of a £50,000 goal, with 26 days left before the crowdfunding campaign ends.
The film is a screen adaptation of Rose Tremain’s bestselling novel, and has the backing of members of the LGBT community in both the UK and US.
Producer Pippa Cross, writer/director Jan Dunn and EP Carina Mueller Harnig have high profile support and endorsement from Stonewall, DIVA, DirectorsList and Hollywomen.
The crowdfunding campaign launched with a short series of live roadshows culminating in an impressive presentation at BAFTAs.
You can support the film on Indiegogo.
