As with most up and coming singer songwriters, Billy Lockett has been slowly crafting a career off the back of YouTube videos, covering a mix of genres from his own takes on Foster the People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ and Rihanna’s ‘Stay’ as well as his own original material. He plays both piano and guitar, switching between the two instruments insuring that all his songs have a different vibe. What they do have in common, however is the singer’s soothing voice, which has secured him supporting slots on tour with the likes of KT Tunstall and most recently Birdy on her ‘Fire Within’ tour as well as Nina Nesbitt.
Hailing from Northampton, Lockett has been releasing music independently as far back as 2011 with his track ‘Balance’ which gained support from Radio 1. He has also collaborated with the mastermind behind many of Robbie Williams biggest hits, Guy Chambers. 2013 saw the release of two EPs ‘Pathways’ and ‘Your Love Hurts’ which continue to gain momentum for the rising star. Billy Lockett, without any major record label backing has kept busy at attracting new fans and will be heading out a headlining tour in 2014 dates including:
