Californian singer K.Flay has released her new single, ‘Blood in the Cut’. She aims to fuse hip-hop/rap with punk rock, both in sound and image. It’s resulted in her recently touring with Snoop Dog, to Passion Pit, right through to PVRIS & Dashboard Confessional.
Dazed and NME have both tipped her as a huge crossover success. As for this single, it’s reminiscent of a toned down and slightly more lyrically gifted version of something the Rogue Traders may have released (‘Voodoo Child’ was a good song, but I can’t think of anything else they ever did). Take from that what you will.
