Latitude Announce Further Additions Across the Weekend

Latest posts by Amy Harvey (see all)

With the sheer amount of live music, theatre, art and more on offer at 2014’s Latitude, the organisers want to go one step further and add even more names to all of it’s current stages. Most notable for music additions is The Pretenders front woman Chrissie Hynde, also responsible for hits such as ‘I Got You Babe’ and ‘Breakfast In Bed’ with UB40. Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott (Formerly Beautiful South) will also be in attendance alongside Augustines, Future Islands, Elliphant and MNEK to name a few. The full list can be found below.

Augustines had this to say: ‘We are super proud to be playing the BBC 6Music tent at Latitude festival this year. We’ve spent many months improving our live show so expect some nice surprises! Festivals are very unique and each one has their own little charm. Latitude 2012 was really fun for us. Not only was it slightly humorous to see the pink sheep wandering around but we all enjoyed the quaint little boat ride which we were privileged to take to get us to the stage. The great thing about Latitude is it’s vibe. It’s a big festival but there is a great sense of community and intimacy. Hopefully the weather will be as glorious as it was the last time. If you see us walking around, come and say hello…. if not, we’ll see you down the front’.

Chrissie Hynde commented:

“Latitude is turning into one of the great British festivals. The site and the atmosphere really make it a very special weekend, so of course I am particularly looking forward to playing there this year. When The Pretenders played there in 2009 it was amazing and this year should be even better. I’m very happy to be back!”

Away from music, we see huge new names added to numerous arenas including Kevin Bridges to comedy and SoHo Playhouse to theatre.
