The sensational British Breakthrough band London Grammar are set to release the opening track from their acclaimed debut LP, ‘Hey Now’ on the 16th of March in the UK . The track that began the trio’s rapid rise to fame in 2013 blends the synonymous riffs and ghostly melodies with Hannah Reid’s ethereal vocal perfectly creating a subtle power in the solace nature. Many of the bridges seem to expand for an eternity with the only sounds recognisable to be the quietened echo of Reid’s last melodic note and the solitary pluck of a guitar string, the only way to describe the feeling I personally experience is to stand looking over an icy landscape.
It’s within this cold silence that the pure devastation of this single is truly obvious, if you are lucky enough to have see the track performed live; Hannah is illuminated from behind as she mournfully croons reassurance in the form of ‘hey, hey now’ like a somber angel delivering news. The production values of the track are as magnificent and polished as the remaining album as every synth riff reverberates and trembles in unison with the vocal.
