8 Reasons Why You Have to Watch RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6

Earlier this week saw the premiere of the trailer for RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Six, and gurrl, does it look fierce.  The world’s greatest reality show is BACK, hunties!

After regaining my breath and picking my jaw back up from the floor, I set about screencapping like a man possessed to bring you eight of the most sick’ning reasons why Season Six is going to be FUN-DA-MENTAL viewing, Mary.

1) RuPaul trying out some new looks.

RuPaul - Season Six

Ru’s hair is usually firmly planted in the yellow/orange end of the spectrum. This silvery-grey business with super dark roots gives me LIFE. RuPaul is 53 (not that you’d ever know) – is this look a sign that she’s embracing her maturity? Maybe. Maybe it’s just a fierce wig. Time will tell.

2) Amazing celebrity judges.

NPH

I love Neil Patrick Harris and his frickin’ adorable husband, David Burtka, too. They join Khloe Kardashian, Adam Lambert, Game of Thrones’s Lena Headey, Paula Abdul and Linda Blair (the little girl from The Exorcist), alongside regular judges Michelle Visage and Santino Rice.

 3) Courtney Act

Courtney Act

Aussie queen Courtney Act is already a pretty big deal. She’s friends with Gaga, been a semi-finalist on Australian Idol, and hung out with Willam in several of his YouTube videos. She’s beautiful, glamorous, and an accomplished comedian, singer and actress. Bitches better beware!

4) Milk

Drag Matador

New York. Avant garde. DRAG MATADOR.

Need I say more?

5) Vivacious

Mother has arrived

She’s a Jamaican queen, and one of the original 90s club kids. She’s weird, but she’s fierce, like an amazing Sharon Needles/Latrice Royale hybrid. I’m expecting great things from this one.

6) April Carrion

Drag Rain

Who’s that, serving “Little April Shower” realness? According to all sources, it’s April Carrion, a fierce Puerto Rican pageant queen. Honey, I thought you knew, gurrrl.

7) WHATEVER IS HAPPENING HERE.

Drag Angel

I don’t know who it is. I don’t know what’s going on. I just know that I LOVE IT. Werk!

8) Tears and Drama

Tears of a Drag Queen

It just wouldn’t be RuPaul’s Drag Race without mascara running down powdered cheeks, and screaming and bitching and fighting. I don’t know if I could deal with another Alyssa/Coco type deal, but this season looks like there’ll be plenty to write home about.

There are rumours currently flying around the Internet that the 14 contestants will be split into two groups of 7, who don’t know about each other, compete separately and then don’t find out the truth until elimination… If it’s true, then it adds a whole new twist, and means that 6 seasons in, the drama isn’t showing any signs of slowing!

RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on the 24th of February on Logo.
