The first teaser for The Leftovers second season is out, and it’s looks very intriguing. It seems as though religion will factor in again, but that was always a given.
Holy Wayne may be dead and gone, but the blessing be bestowed upon Kevin Garvey is still up in the air. Our theory is that Holy Wayne somehow managed to bring back Kevin and Laurie’s unborn baby, who was birthed by Christine at the end of season one – only this time Kevin will raise it with Nora Durst.
The this isn’t the most tantalising teaser from the first trailer, no. It’s been known for quite some time now that the show will relocate from Mapleton, New York, and that only half of the current cast will be coming along for the ride. Don’t expect to see the twins anymore, or any of the Guilty Remnant (minus Laurie, of course). I have to admit, I had no idea how a change would be implemented, or why it was necessary. But this teaser has restored my faith in The Leftovers.
Apparently we’re travelling to Jarden, Texas, and we’re not the only ones. The teaser shows a line of backed up traffic waiting to enter the town, where not a single member of its 9,261 populous was taken during the ‘sudden departure’. Colour us intrigued!
The Leftovers debuts its second season later this year; the first season, for those that failed to watch it first time around, will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in October. In the mean time make sure to watch our review of this riveting series here. Join us later in the year as we review the second season.
