The nation seems poised on tenterhooks for the TV event of the season: Westworld. Though several of us here at Vada have seen the first few episodes, we’re not going to spoil it for you!
Suffice it to say that the first episode pulls together tropes from a variety of genres, turning Michael Crighton’s science fiction concept into something designed to spin out a whole series with (the studio hopes) the longevity and impact of, say, Game of Thrones. Like GoT, its start is uneven but viewers are going wild for it all the same. It’s ambitious, gorgeous and curious, but whether it can pull off the audacious remains to be seen.
