ARTS EDITOR – Application Deadline: 1st February 2014
We are looking for a committed Arts Editor to join the Vada team.
The Arts Editor will be responsible for ensuring Vada maintains a strong and varied coverage in the section, and for compiling and organising regular features that speak to the ingenuity and diversity of Arts and Queer Culture in the UK and further afield.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of writers, to ensure Vada continues to publish high quality news, reviews and opinion features relating to art, theatre, performance and literature. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with an abiding passion for the Arts and a keen and creative eye when it comes to co-ordinating features, spotting trends and promoting content.
We anticipate this role will take approximately 7 hours per week. The Arts Editor will be responsible for managing contributors, commissioning content and maintaining high editorial standards. The ability to remain on-trend is essential, as well as an overall engagement in Arts to allow you to critically evaluate submissions. Previous experience is desirable, although enthusiasm and flair can go a long way.

GEEK EDITOR – Application Deadline: 1st February 2014
We are looking for a committed Geek Editor to join the Vada team.
The Geek Editor will be an out and proud geek and will be responsible for ensuring Vada becomes the first point of call for high quality and intrepid coverage of all things geeky. You will be required to maintain strong and even coverage in this section, speaking to the interests and quirkiness of gay geeks and gamers everywhere.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of writers, as well as recruiting new members to the team in order to ensure Vada continues to publish high quality news, reviews and opinion features relating to comics, games and all things geeky. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who has the knowledge and creative editorial eye to take the section forward.
We anticipate that this role will require a commitment of approximately 7 hours per week. The Geek Editor will be responsible for managing contributors, commissioning content and maintaining high editorial standards. The ability to remain on-trend is essential, as well as an intrinsic awareness of the subject area to critically assess the validity of submissions and edit effectively. Previous experience is desirable, although enthusiasm and flair can go a long way.

OPINIONS EDITOR – Application Deadline: 1st February 2014
We are looking for a committed Opinions Editor to join the Vada team.
As the mouthpiece for Vada and our take on the world, the Opinions Section requires an Opinions Editor highly attuned to the trends and currents of news and opinion, both in terms of LGBT related content and wider social issues. We are looking for a confident and talented individual committed to quality, whilst always prioritising social equality. Sensitivity to a queer perspective in this section and its output will go a long way.
You will be responsible for ensuring Vada builds upon its strong and eclectic coverage of opinion, and developing the section so that it continues to challenge the routine mould of LGBT publication in new and exciting ways.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of writers, ensuring editorial standards are met, and establishing Vada as a leading publication in terms of LGBT opinion and an alternative perspective on important topical issues. An eye for a breaking story is essential, with the ideal candidate being a motivated self-starter who is interested in current affairs at home and abroad and has a respect for the diversity and multicultural richness in queer culture and beyond.
We anticipate this role will take approximately 7 hours per week.The ability to remain on-trend is essential, as well as the editorial confidence to steer this section in a clear and progressive direction. Previous experience is desirable, although enthusiasm and flair can go a long way.
