8. Kim Gordon – No Home Record
Blisteringly brutal walls of sound support and sometimes suffocate Kim Gordon on her extraordinary debut solo record, one which never recalls her band Sonic Youth.
Spare and thumping textures which often take influence from trap and hip hip music and comparisons to MIA and early Grace Jones make unexpected but surprising sense.
