Taylor Swift, Midnights

For many, this may be considered a minor work for Taylor Swift, but that would do an injustice to an album that was a surprise return to Swift’s pre-Folklore, eletro-pop leanings – kind of. Both amorphous and crystalline, Midnights has tonal shifts that stretch further towards harder soundscapes than ever before, whilst retaining an accessible immediacy and Swift’s signature lyricism. Midnights is one of her best.

South London based music obsessive with strong opinions about most things. Doubts Madonna has another good record in her but would love more than anything to be proved wrong.
