The Barber Shop Mayfair

Established in 1968, The Barber Shop Mayfair is something of a hidden gem tucked away in the hustle and bustle of London, a short walk from Regent Street. Entering the establishment, I felt like I was in a warm and friendly environment. I immediately trusted the barbers.

After having my hair washed and cut, I had my first ever Hot Towel Cut Throat Shave (£32) and it was one of the most relaxing experiences I have ever had. Having been told that many people fall asleep I could easily see why. Pads were placed over my eyes, oil was applied to soften my beard hair and hot towels were placed over my face to open the pores, meaning a closer shave. My face has never felt so smooth! I would come back just for that treatment alone.

My hair was then conditioned and styled, using products that were made specifically for The Barber Shop Mayfair – and all of them sourced within London. Simon, the manager, then applied a scalp tonic which emitted a gorgeous scent of watermelon throughout the day. It was a fantastic touch and reminded me of the positive experience long after my visit.

The Barber Shop Mayfair is a fantastic barbers with every member of staff knowing what they’re doing. The clients that walked in seemed equally happy with some talking to me about the scalp tonic – one customer even said that he had had it ten years ago! The fact that it seemed the barbers had many returning clients, and especially in London, speaks for itself. It’s a trusted and well-loved barbers and I will definitely be planning a return trip next time I am in the area!
