Cleansers come in many shapes and forms. With many on the market it’s often hard to find what best suits you and your skin. Cleansing lotions and milks are often best to start out with as they are fantastic for more sensitive, drier skin and tend not to break skin out.
SKINeffect 3-in-1
RRP £7.99 – Available from Lloyds Pharmacy
Hitting the skincare universe in the spring, SKINeffect 3-in-1 is the first dermo-cosmetic skincare line by Lloyds Pharmacy.
Free from unnecessary chemicals the 3-in-1 cleanser acts as a cleanser, eye make-up remover and toner with the three main ingredients being hyaluronic acid, molecular film and atomized sea water which helps to stimulate the cell protection, support the natural skin cycle as well as soften and nourish the skin.
Having tried this product out I found it to work and I found my skin to be brighter and I looked fresh faced. I also liked how this one you just applied to a cotton pad and rubbed in – a great fix for when you were in a rush.
Bioderma Atoderm Nutri-Protective Cleansing Cream
RRP £12.80 – Available from escentual.com
This cleansing product is easily one of the best for sensitive skin. Not having particularly sensitive skin myself I gave it to my friend who has extremely sensitive skin. Their reaction was that it soothed their skin dramatically and now won’t use anything else so that has to say something!
Paraben free and hypoallergenic this helps to rebuild the skin and give your skin the ultimate protection even for the most sensitive skin.
Shiseido Gentle Cleansing Cream
RRP £31.00 – Available from escentual.com
Another great one for sensitive skin, the Shiseido Gentle Cleansing Cream is a great one for those that love a cleansing lotion but doesn’t want their skin feeling heavy or clogged. Using Yuzu, this cleanser works with the skin ensuring minimal irritation and can be used either as a wet or dry cleanse.
Personally speaking I found the wet cleanse more effective and made my skin a lot softer but I love the versatility and it really speaks to many people and their hectic lifestyle.
MyChelle Pure Harmony Cleanser
RRP £10.50 – Available from mychelleuk.com, Whole Foods, Harrods, Lloyds Pharmacy and Selfridges
MyChelle products are some of my favourites on the market. Infused with natural ingredients the products surely speak for themselves and the Pure Harmony Cleanser is no different. Green tea, sea buckthorn and aqua cacteen help to soften, soothe and nourish the skin and helps to wash away any access dirt and oil.
This product is something I have purchased before and I thoroughly enjoy using it every single time. I find the scent to be a really good one for the morning too and gets me energised for the day ahead.
Thalgo Pure Velvet Cleansing Cream
RRP £24.95 – Available from thalgo.co.uk
The Pure Velvet Cleansing Cream is one of Thalgo’s most popular products. Sweet almond oil and shea butter nourish and soften the skin and the cleanser really gets deep into the pores soothing any irritation and sensitivity.
Whilst not my personal favourite I have heard rave reviews and my sister swears by the stuff as a good makeup remover. This would be a good one for those prone to wearing makeup and those that want a really good cleanse.
Anthony Algae Facial Cleanser
RRP £36.00 – Available from Mankind
Having been recently introduced to Anthony products I’m shocked at how I didn’t know about them before as they are pretty good! The Algae facial cleanser uses lavender and aloe to soothe and condition the skin with the algae helping to nourish, cleanse and refresh the skin.
I found this a really nice one to use after a long day with the London commute meaning that you look like a sweaty mess and is one I may just repurchase!
Kestin Florian’s Caviar Crème Cleanser
RRP £58.00 – Available from kestinflorian.co.uk
This is the decadent one. The one that if you are going to go for it, go for it! One of Katie Holmes’ favourite brands, Kestin Florian have outdone themselves with luxurious ingredients that really get your skin into tip top shape. With Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin as well as caviar to nourish, this cleanser also contains antioxidents and botanicals that will improve the appearance of the skin even if it’s been through a lot.
This cleanser is a great pamper treat and, whilst I wouldn’t use this every day, I found it to be great before a facemask or if I just fancied to treat my skin a little extra.
Exuviance Gentle Cleansing Crème
RRP £39.00 – Available from exuviance.co.uk
For use as a wet cleanse the Exuviance Gentle Cleansing Crème used cucumber, rosemary and chamomile to soothe and soften the skin. Fantastic for sensitive skin, as many cleansing lotions are, this is a great one to use both day and night and it made my skin feel squeaky clean.
The polyhydroxy acids are said to help with the ageing process so that is most definitely a fantastic addition!

South African brand Environ have come overseas bringing some of their best loved skincare. The AVST Cleansing Lotion helps to remove excess dirt, oil and makeup which makes this fantastic for those with drier skin and those that don’t want something too deep cleansing.
Olive oil and jojoba seed oil is used which helps to cleanse and leaves the skin feeling like velvet – if you want your skin to be supple and soft this cleanser is definitely worth a look in.
