Celebrate National Burger Day with a ‘Smoked Old Fashioned’

On the mezzanine floor above the Bar, Studio Kitchen in K-West Hotel is an informal eatery with an urban New York vibe. Edgy city landscape sketches stretch along the walls, mirrored by a quirky wave of banquet seating hugging the back of the room. Sprinklings of filament light bulbs suspended on individual wires add an abstract, arty feel to the room.

This is the restaurant that brought you the epic Creme Egg burger, and the boozy Bloody Mary Burger and now the ‘Smoked Old Fashioned Burger’ to celebrate National Burger Day (27 August 2015).

Based on the aromatic deep flavours of the classic American bourbon whisky based cocktail, this burger is one smooth sandwich. It starts on a base shiny brioche bun, which is home to a juicy beef patty topped with melting smoked cheese and crispy smoked pancetta. The moisture comes from a generous helping of smoky BBQ Bourbon whisky sauce with a stack of deep-fried bourbon whisky battered onion rings. If that wasn’t enough, why not wash down the majestic burger with a mini Old Fashioned cocktail served on the side?

Priced at £15.50, the burger is served with sweet potato chips and a complimentary mini old-fashioned cocktail, which is available for a limited time only. Formerly the BBC Building Kensington House in the 60s, an endless list of Rock ‘N’ Roll royalty has stayed, played and misbehaved at K West  – Bob Marley and the Wailers, Bowie, The Kinks and Roxy Music to name a few.
