Tired of cooking up Christmas cheer as you juggle parsnips and baste turkeys? Well, we know your pain. Cooking for an army of hungry mouths can be something of a nightmare. But this year, two luxury culinary giants have teamed up to offer a fantastic order-in dinner package which we hope will make Christmas dinners a bit easier (if a lot more expensive) in future years.
This ultimate Christmas dinner package – with fabulous trimmings and some serious style – is now being offered by Alexander & James. The Alexander & James Presents Christmas with The Ivy package is a luxury food and drink pairing experience within the comfort of your own home
The online shopping platform for food and drink connoisseurs, Alexander & James, has partnered with top-notch London restaurant The Ivy to help you throw a stress-free, high-class dinner party. This festive-inspired three course menu was this year crafted by Executive Chef Gary Lee, served with a selection of cocktails by A&J’s resident mixologist, Kenji Jesse.
A uniquely British institution, The Ivy is renowned for its unmatched service and intimate atmosphere, as well as its unique menu. Bringing this ethos to the festive package, all the party host and guests need to do is sit back and enjoy.
This year’s delicious and decadent menu features choices such as seared scallops with cauliflower mousseline and maple bacon crisps, beef wellington with wild mushrooms, wilted spinach & madeira jus and chocolate panettone crunch bombe with mandarin.
To start the night, the mixologist will prepare a refreshing apéritif, followed by a range of delicious and unique serves, ensuring there is something to appeal to all tastes. From the unusual Chocolate Old Fashioned to the classic Manhattan, each cocktail has been created specially to complement as well as heighten the flavours and aromas of The Ivy’s Christmas menu.
A limited number of luxury festive packages are produced, which includes canapés, a full three course dinner, crockery, cutlery, napkins, table cloth, spirits, mixers, accessories, glassware, tea/coffee, bar accessories and serving staff. Prices vary depending on the size of the group.
We expect the package (or something like it) to go on sale again from October 2015 online.
