The fourth annual Festival of Heat Chilli festival is returning to the UK on Sunday 25 September at the Red Market, Shoreditch. Celebrating every aspect of the tasty chilli, the festival hones in on eating, growing and cooking with the ingredient and definitely a must attend for those who like to add a little heat to their meal. Festival attendees will be able to participate in workshops and tasting sessions, purchase spicy supplies in the market, enjoy entertainment and live music throughout the day and sip on chilli infused drinks at the bar.
Featuring the likes of ‘Burning Desire’ ‘Sidekick Sauces,’ and ‘Firefoods,’ The Festival of Heats boasts the widest selection of UK- grown chili producers. “In an age where local trade and community values are being eroded by wider global interests,” Flavour Gurus from Made in Hackney reveal their secrets in the Festival Kitchen through masterclasses, workshops and demonstrations, including ‘Growing the Perfect Chilli’, and ‘Cooking with Chilli to achieve the perfect Heat.’ Acclaimed street vendor turned private catering company, ‘White Men Can’t Jerk,’ will be one of the featured vendors serving up delicious dishes on the day.
“It’s especially important to create spaces in communities…Growing, cooking & sharing food brings people together.” Rossana Leal, Festival Founder
Even in the summer, over 3,500 chilli enthusiasts can handle the heat. Chili trader Capsicana praises “I’ve been doing the Festival of Heat since its 1st year and it gets better every year, it’s one of the best vibes you will find at a food fest anywhere”.
