Manchester Gin launches new Blackberry Infused flavour with hints of dandelion and burdock

Award-winning local distiller Manchester Gin has unveiled its sixth flavour: Blackberry Infused. Drawing on the quintessentially British sweetness of blackberry with hints of dandelion and burdock, this is set to be a unique and bold flavour which stands out against the competition.

Not only is this the latest infusion by the Northern artisan drink producer, Blackberry Infused is also, surprisingly, one of the first premium gins in this flavour (we could only find two others: Tarquin’s and Whitley Neill).

Created in The Spirit of Manchester Distillery, this new gin uses Manchester Gin’s classic botanicals, dandelion, burdock root, and blackberry juice which gives it an unmistakeable deep red hue and a flavour like childhood in the countryside.

Distillers Jennie Wiggins and Seb Heeley have taken inspiration from Britain’s hedgerows and the autumn. The drink is smooth and warming, and pairs perfectly with Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic for a very British taste. This particularly appeals to me since, as a kid, we had a house with huge blackberry bushes and plenty of elderflower to pick and press at leisure.

Master Distiller and Manchester Gin co-founder Seb Heeley said, ‘Our aim was to create a bold, unmistakably blackberry gin, so we’re really proud of Blackberry Infused. We’ve maintained a high ABV and a clear gin character that’s both juniper forward, and carefully balanced with the blackberries. It’s got the sweetness and juice of the berry, but still very much gin.

‘Its rich and warm flavour is perfect for autumnal drinks, hot cocktails, or a G&T that’s bursting with flavour. I don’t think there’s anything else like it on the premium market right now, so we’re really pleased to be able to give our customers something new and unique.’

A purple and gold label adorns the iconic Manchester Gin bottle, incorporating the Manchester bee and honeycomb detailing. The clear glass bottle allows the deep, dark hue of this new expression to shine through.

Blackberry Infused is available to order on the website for shipping from today and to taste in cocktails and G&Ts in Manchester Gin’s bar and restaurant, Three Little Words.

The Blackberry Infused gin joins the other gins in the range, which include Signature, Wild Spirit, Raspberry Infused, Overboard and Haçienda gin.
