Hilton Manchester Deansgate recently welcomed Urban Oasis to its city centre hotel. The petite but inviting spa offers a range of wellness and beauty treatments, including a Volcanic Hot Stone Back Massage, Sothys Seasons Indulgence facial and UO Cosmic Love Reiki Healing.
Urban Oasis’ original spa is based at a concession in Debenhams, Manchester, and includes a therapy training centre. Whereas the Debenhams spa has more of a beauty and salon focus (with shoppers coming to pamper themselves between browsing the aisles), the Hilton spa focuses more on health and wellbeing – with an excellent menu of holistic treatments.
Of the spa opening, Urban Oasis owner Martha Mary Brophy said, ‘I’m thrilled to officially open our new space in Hilton Manchester Deansgate, right at the heart of the city centre.
‘The hotel offers luxury rooms, meeting spaces, a restaurant, afternoon tea in Cloud 23, and we hope Urban Oasis will really add to this experience by bringing some peace and tranquillity.’
The staff on-hand have been individually selected for their healing hands and passionate personalities, and the treatments take place in beautifully themed rooms including the Butterfly Room and Buddah Room. The rooms are tastefully decorated, setting the atmosphere for the treatments that followed, and a pot of affirmations and positive messages sits on the table to provide you with an uplifting thought to take away.
You’re Not Alone
We were lucky enough to try the You’re Not Alone package (£130 for two people – one hour each, in the same room). A sumptuous couples treatment, the therapists gave us each a one-hour treatment, lying side-by-side in a relaxing, romantic setting. Our treatments included a full-body massage and personal consultation, while fragrant aromatherapy helped to soothe and re-energise us.
The therapists were excellent and eased our tight muscles into gentle, floating relaxation, and were able to identify problem areas. We left with an awareness of what was worsening some of our physical maladies (my partner, a gardener, needs to do more stretching on mornings before getting into all that heavy lifting and outdoor work; I need to make sure to stretch my neck, arms and shoulders to combat the effects of desk work).
