So here’s an interesting development. After making it to the finals for RuPaul’s UK Drag Ambassador, Anna Phylactic is now fronting the Marriott chain of hotels during the pride season in the UK.
Until the end of the month, the terribly fabulous Anna will be representing the #manchesterqueens as she takes on the role of the hotel brand’s most glamorous concierge. And those of us who know Anna well know she’s always in the know – she’ll be whispering her insider knowledge in your ear to advise where to go and what to do in each city over pride.
Hostest with the mostest Anna, who runs Manchester alt-queer night Cha Cha Boudoir with sister Cheddar Gorgeous and DJ Danny Olsson-Lane, last weekend worked in Marriott hotels in Leeds and Liverpool, with appearances at Marriott Glasgow and the Renaissance hotel in Manchester. Anna already has her face on the side of The Molly House in Manchester, and is an ambassador for local charity George House Trust.
From Marriott UK, Laura Philps said, ‘After our recent success winning Brand of the Year at the LGBT Awards, we wanted to go one step further for guests staying with us over the ride events.
‘By employing someone who is so central to the LGBT community we are able to give customers the best advice on the popular bars, the number of late-night taxi services and the most relaxing places to visit after partying has finished – ultimately facilitating the best possible pride experience.’
Anna Phylactic says, ‘Who better to tell you the best places to go during pride events than a drag queen? I know the who, where and what for all the events and my new job gives me the opportunity to share this insider knowledge with anyone staying at one of these fabulous hotels.’
Marriott hotels across the UK are offering an exclusive weekend package especially for pride. If you’re at The Renaissance for Manchester Pride, you can also catch her performing an apocalypse-inspired number at Cha Cha Boudoir on the Friday night.
We’ll be sure to catch up with this most glamorous of hosts in the run-up to pride!
