For Books’ Sake hosting a special event as part of Queer We Are to represent all the queers who like to read, write and tell stories.
By using works of queer literature and non-fiction that lean towards the erotic and the political, the team behind FBS will encourage people to find disembodied words and reattach them into your own fiction or non-fiction. Think Valerie Solanas’ sexual terrorism mixed in with Sarah Waters’ erotic Victoriana or the burgeoning lesbianism of Rubyfruit Jungle juxtaposed with the gender neutrality of The Left Hand of Darkness.
FBS will also have a quiet reading area with bean bags and books galore of every kind, so if you fancy getting interactive or just want to be immersive then come along and do your own thing.
This is a FREE event in a safe space and is open to all.
For more information on the event, see the Facebook events page.
