On Sunday 14 August, Vada will be teaming up with Aspidistra books and The Gay Agenda radio show to host an LGBT literature festival in the centre of Manchester. The event will take place at Fab Café on Portland Street and will run from midday until late.

Expect art and literature galore, with everything from an LGBT book fair to creative writing workshops, stellar performances and a mini film festival. Books at the festival will range from art books to poetry collections to novels – there will also be a selection of books available from local writing development organisation Commonword and our own parent publisher, Dog Horn Publishing.

So if you fancy spending your Sunday, listening to spoken word, watching short films, browsing books and writing away the afternoon, make sure you get yourself to Lit Up. The aim of the event is to bring the LGBT community together and appreciate LGBT art in an exciting and engaging space. The event is free of charge and you can pop in at any time during the day.
