Preview: Mother’s Ruin @ Queer Contact

Alt-queer performance platform Mother’s Ruin returns to Contact on Fri 17th Feb as part of Queer Contact 17 with an anarchic night of queer comedy mayhem. Avant-garde punk cabaret band SlapPer are joined by some of Manchester’s finest queer voices to present a raucous night of glorious absurdity and attitude.
Hosted by the glamorous and ecologically inspired bearded drag lady Timberlina and featuring (via the 192 from Stockport), international fun-smuggling housewife Mrs Barbara Nice; current champion of Literary Death Match Manchester – the dead funny, dark and surreal delight that is Fat Roland; rising star of the north, performance artist Liquorice Black; and 5-piece punk cabaret band SlapPer – a transportational feast of dada-esque whimsy and surrealist grunge-glam punk and “Easily one of the most insane and entertaining bands on the planet.” Musicborn. Plus the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be giving grace.
