Thursday 1st May – Monday 5th May

Village People Weekend, Manchester
Raising money for LGBT charities, theres plenty going on over the weekend, but it’ll be rounded off by a performance by DWV (that’s Detox, Willam and Vicky Vox of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame) on the Monday night at AXM.

Sunday 4th May

Dalston Superstore’s 5th Birthday, London 6pm til late
Dalston Superstore is marking its fifth birthday on the bank holiday weekend, featuring stalwart DJs Hannah Holland, Camplin & Vietheer, Dan Beaumont and Sink The Pink’s Glyn Famous. There’ll be lasers, drag queens and plenty of prosecco.

Thursday 8th May

ReachOUT Fundraiser @ Leeds University Union 8pm – Midnight
ReachOUT is a fantastic charity, providing support specifically for asylum seekers and refugees in Leeds. Lend a hand by coming down to their fundraiser at the Leeds University Union.  You can find out more about them in this article.

Saturday 10th May

Schools OUT at 40 National Conference @ University of Manchester 9:30am – 5pm
Celebrating their 40th Birthday, Schools OUT will be putting on an all day conference featuring workshops and guest speakers including Peter Tatchell and Lena Milosevic. The conference will bring together LGBT staff and students from primary through to higher education.

Wednesday 14th May

The Save Rubyyy Jones Revue @ The RVT, London
After a spectacular return last month, which Vada went along to, Rubyyy Jones is back now on a monthly basis, serving up more fabulous gogo acts, drag and alternative cabaret from the incomparable Familyyy Fierce.

Thursday 22nd May

David Hoyle Still Life: Paris Lees @ The RVT, London Doors 7:30/Show 8:30
In case you haven’t seen enough of Paris Lees in the gay media this year, you can go and see her in person at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern. She’ll be in conversation with David Hoyle as part of a series exploring spirituality, art, academia and queer history.

Friday 23rd May

Carnival @ Scala, London 9pm – 5am
After bringing Ms Dynamite to you at Easter, MissFit are joining forces with DOMO and Bar Wotever to take over Scala! Dancing On My Own’s Bethany will be bringing her queer body-positive party to the attic room. Bar Wotever will be in the reception room with installations and gender exploration. The main room will be hosted by MissFit with a soon to be announced headline act.

Saturday 24th  & Sunday 25th May

Birmingham Pride 2014
Birmingham brings us the first major Pride event of the season. The main stage, headlined by Gabrielle and Conor Maynard and Drag Queens of London’s Baga Chipz, will be on the Village Cabaret Stage. Tickets are £10 for day ticket or £15 for the whole weekend.

Thursday 29th May 

The Meth Lab Ball with Michelle Visage @ The Black Cap, London 9pm til late
After bringing Drag Race legends including Latrice and DWV across the pond, for her next trick, Meth (also on Drag Queens of London) has enlisted RuPaul’s right hand woman Michelle Visage to find the very first Meth Lab Superstar. Tickets are still available for this so good luck, and don’t fuck it up!
