Today, in Stockholm Sahar Mosleh and Maryam Iranfar tied the knot nine years after meeting online. The couple, originally from Iran, were forced to flee their home due to the risk of being sentenced to death for their ‘crimes’. The couple were blessed by South African based Imam Ludovic Mohamed Zahed who is openly gay. He was quoted as saying, ‘I am very grateful for this beautiful wedding and to be able to give my blessing to this happy couple.” The couple who are expecting their first child were seen smiling throughout the ceremony, and despite the bittersweet irony of having to cross the globe to be wed, they seemed in good spirits even making a joke with the Imam mid-ceremony.

Vada would like to extend a congratulations to both Sahar and Maryam!
