Next month marks the release of 50 Shades Darker, and if the first film is anything to go by I won’t be rushing to the cinema BUT one grey trend I can get on board with is grey interiors. Hailed by Elle Décor as one of THE trends to shape your home for 2017, this is one to seriously take note of. Grey isn’t just for the ridiculously beautiful Scandi-style homes that flood Pinterest, every house can benefit from this trend, and it definitely won’t be going anywhere anytime soon! For budget friendly ways to incorporate multiple shades of grey to your home check out these top tips:

 A Fresh Lick of Paint

If you’re a dab hand with a paintbrush then this is a relatively cheap way to give your home a new look. Grey walls are far from dull, offering a touch of elegance and class. If you’re not ready to paint your whole room grey then why not try out a feature wall first? You’re sure to fall in love with it, but just in case it isn’t a match made in heaven then you can always paint over! Add a few monochrome prints and quirky typography posters for that ultimate Pinterest look.

A Grey Feature Chair

A funky chair can truly transform a room, and a quick scroll of Instagram will confirm that velvet style chairs are definitely the in thing right now. There’s been a LOT of loving for pink, but pink will come and go whereas grey sits well with multiple colour themes and won’t date as quickly. A feature chair is what your living room has been missing, and the above scroll back style is a classic design that will add oodles of chic!

Subtle Grey Accessories

If you’re not ready to commit to a grey wall or piece of furniture then why not try experimenting with a few grey accessories first? From a simple candle holder to a cushion or perhaps a vase. There are plenty of ways you can incorporate this trend into your abode that won’t break the bank. Check out outlets such as HomeSense for fabulous one-off pieces and home bargains, it’s a serious Aladdin’s cave.

A Beautiful Print

Another way in which to incorporate a splash of grey is by introducing a print or poster into your living area. This is a great way to mix it up with a non-permanent fixture! Check out popular online stores such as Desenio and Sealoe for fun and affordable posters. Whilst quote prints are nice, why not opt for something a little different like this beautiful clouds poster which captures various shades of grey in a unique way.

Simple Grey Bedding

Crisp white walls with a grey set of bedding are a dream combination! Keep it simple and opt for on-trend linen bed sheets for a cosy, scandi-cool look. H&M are your best destination for this style of bedding and at an affordable price. Jazz it up with a chunky knit throw and scatter cushions for ultimate #homegoals.

There are lots of ways in which you can feed this trend into your home without breaking the bank, don’t be afraid to experiment or try something new! Grey is sure to be a hot colour for a long time so you can be sure you won’t be going out of fashion anytime soon.
