It seems the Mother Monster is destined to always be full of surprises as Lady Gaga releases a new single with jazz legend Tony Bennett with the promise of an album on the way.

The single, ‘Anything Goes’ was released this week and features Gaga and Bennett in an amazing duet adding a new spin to the classic song. The vocal chemistry between both artists is astounding, connecting two different generations in an explosion of amazing music. This gets us all the more excited to hear that this unusual duet is just a precursor for a joint album between them called Cheek to Cheek.

This is not the first time Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga have worked together musically. Little Monsters all over will remember them working together on ‘The Lady is a Tramp’. The song went on to be featured on Bennett’s album Duets II in 2011 which focused on similar collaborations between the popular jazz musician and great singers like John Mayer, Amy Winehouse and Josh Groban.

Based on the evidence to hand we are very pleased to hear about this surprise album. Beyonce herself made waves in December 2013 when she released her self titled album with no prior lead up or hype and resulted in a social shockwave. While this new album still has two months before general release this is still a surprise for fans and we are cautiously optimistic that this means it will elude the trap of being overhyped and being unable to deliver.
