So this week I was meant to share with you another News Reel but unfortunately the news was all a bit too bleak and boring. So I forwent my usual rant to work on some other bits and pieces. In the last few weeks I have shared some videos with you including a sci-fi animation and a brilliant fan film of a Video Game.
So I thought this week I would share something a bit more romantic with you all. Curta – Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho which translates as I Don’t Want to Go Back Alone. This is a short and exceptionally sweet film about two gay teenagers falling in love. Did I mention that one of them is blind? Well, watching it will explain all of this. I think it’s better to watch than for me to write about the plot.
What is interesting to note is that the film was originally written and made for the Brazilian cinema education program which means that this was shown in schools. Once you’ve watched this have a nice little think about that. I certainly don’t remember seeing anything this nice in schools, although at the time I think Section 28 was being repealed. Being that it was shown in schools in a predominantly Catholic country, the eventual and entirely expected outcry soon appeared, but even this failed to stop the film being shown.
Anyway, enough rambling, more film, enjoy.
