Facial serums are everywhere at the moment! They have really hit it off the last few years and it’s now very rare for there to be a skincare line without one incorporated in!
So what exactly are serums? Serums help to penetrate deeper down into the skin. Generally speaking they penetrate deeper down than a moisturiser and help with the skin from the bottom up. This means that your skin will look better within a few weeks and your skin will feel restored, nourished and looking younger (we all can hope).
Being a 22-year-old, I’ve used serums for years. Prevention is better than the cure as they say! Personally speaking, I also love serums as they are great for acne scarring and great for those that have suffered with breakouts and spots in the past! The products mentioned aren’t gender specific either. Others might disagree, but skin is different on everyone and it isn’t defined by gender. Some products that are more geared towards women might work the same or even better for men and vice versa. It’s all about finding the right product for you. Personally speaking, I like to put on serums at night, but I find them too heavy during the day.
In terms of when to put a serum on, there tends to be some confusion. Whether you put it on in the day or night, under moisturiser or over moisturiser. The answer I like to say is to do it whenever you feel like you need it. The correct way is under moisturiser, preferably at night when the skin restores itself. There are different serums out there for different people – both in terms of lifestyle and skin type. Here is a rundown of the 13 best serums that I have tried.
Angela Langford – Perfect Pores

The Perfect Pores serum is fantastic for those who have acne, combination or oilier skin due to the juniperberry and lemongrass. These two also help to combat blackheads and keep the pores looking their best. The Hyaluronic Acid and Spilanthes Acamella Flowers help to plump and hydrate the skin as well as evening out fine lines.
Personally speaking, this serum did help with breakouts and would definitely be one to use when my skin is misbehaving.
