The largest Chinese festival in the UK has, this year, also become the highest – now celebrated 23 storeys up in Hilton Manchester Deansgate’s Cloud 23!
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Hilton Manchester Deansgate is launching an exquisite new menu of Eastern delights from 23 to 29 January.
Manchester was recently selected top out of all European cities in which to celebrate Chinese New Year – beating off stiff competition from runners-up London and Paris.
The lobby will be suitably lit with red paper lanterns, as you arrive for your express elevator to decadent sky bar, Cloud 23. On the menu are a selection of Chinese-inspired cocktails, served with fortune cookies to reveal what the year ahead holds in store.
Next, diners descend to Podium to enjoy a two- or three-course menu priced £24.95 or £29.95, respectively. On the menu are favourites such as salt and pepper squid and duck spring rolls with sesame, soy and honey dipping sauce, followed by delicious mains including bok choy vegetable stir fry and tempura king prawn garlic, chilli and ginger chow mein. You can satisfy your sweet tooth with a lychee fruit salad or banana fritters in syrup, accompanied by a cup of traditional Chinese tea.
You can also take part in the festive cheer by trying the ancient art of calligraphy and improve linguistic skills with Mandarin lessons – available on request for group bookings or as add-ons with pre-booked meetings.
So, say goodbye to the monkey and hello to the rooster by celebrating Chinese New Year with Hilton Manchester Deansgate.
