Hip Hop High Tea at POND, Dalston

Follow me

High tea is as English as, well, drinking tea, so POND in Dalston have brought an East London, modern twist with a Hip Hop High Tea to enjoy on a bank holiday Sunday afternoon.

You may well have enjoyed a traditional high tea (cucumber sandwiches, a variety of teas, scones dripping with clotted cream and jam), seated in a plush dining room and perhaps even with champagne flowing. However, POND’s revamp on this tradition will be set in a Victorian warehouse, down a hidden track in Dalston.

The event will have an old-school hip-hop vibe for a food and drink experience not to be missed. Proceedings will kick-off at 2pm and run until late, with DJs spinning old school hip hop.

The £5 price will reserve you a space and include a welcome cocktail. There will be the opportunity to order a cake stand full of Hip Hop High Tea petit fours and steam buns from Pastry Chef Terri Mercieca and POND’s Hawaiian twist on High Tea snacks.

The drinks available will be designed by The Manhattans Project’s Felix Cohen, and will include boozy teapots, so you can sip your cocktails from twee china while bouncing your head to great beats.

Hip Hop High Tea takes place on Sunday 27 March, from 2pm onwards. The entry price is £5, with a selection of petit fours, steam buns, boozy pots of tea and special drinks available for purchase. To book your place, visit: pond-dalston.com/hiphophightea.
