You’ll have festivals coming out of your ears this year. With something going on virtually every week, in the UK and abroad, it can be hard to decide where to go and how much to spend. Here’s a list of the top 6 festivals of Summer 2016.
- Leeds Festival (26-28 August)
Leeds fest is a firm favourite every year. Grab your coat and wellies and spend the weekend listening to the likes of The Wombats, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Fetty Wap, ASAP Rocky, Biffy Clyro and Imagine Dragons. Ticket prices start at £66.50. Click here to book and view the full line up
- Africa Oye, Liverpool (18-19 June)
Africa Oye is an annual African and world music festival held in Liverpool’s Sefton Park. The only free festival of its kind will be showcasing acts from the UK and beyond, including Mbongwana Star, Randy Valentine, Baloji and Akala. More info here
- Down to the Woods, Durham (13-14 August)
This will be the first festival of its size to take place in the North East. Headliners for the Saturday are Primal Scream and on the Sunday, Chase & Status will take over. Catfish and the Bottlemen and Echo and the Bunnymen are among the many brilliant acts that will be performing. You can view the current line up and book on the Down to the Woods website.
- Exit Festival (7-10 July)
This Serbian festival has been proclaimed as Europe’s best festival and boasts acts including The Prodigy, David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Hurts and Wiz Khalifa. If you’re looking to jet off and want something that will appeal to everyone’s music tastes – this is the shout. View the line up and book tickets here
- Seadance Festival (14-16 July)
This Montenegro based festival has been voted Europe’s best medium sized festival. Skrillex is this year’s big headliner and will be playing alongside acts including Hurts, Andy C and Lost Frequencies – definitely not one to miss. View the line up and book tickets here
- Stone Free Festival, London (18-19 June)
At London’s o2 will share Rock n Roll stories, host rare film screenings and offer the stage to the likes of Alice Cooper, The Darkness and Blackberry Smoke.
